THE JOB
We’re hiring a Tax File Specialist to help with tax season work. If you know your way around T1s, foreign tax credits, and compliance details that other people miss, keep reading. Familiarity with working paper files, tax, and 1040s gets your name to the top of the pile.
We’re also big fans of non-traditional hires. If you’re a paralegal, admin, quality control specialist, military, or have experience in any role where obsessive attention to detail is the norm, give us a shout.
SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE
- Over-the-top attention to detail: This isn’t optional. We’re tax people. The details matter.
- Independence: We don’t babysit. If you take on work, we expect you to own it and deliver. Deadlines aren’t suggestions.
- Help the client: You’ll communicate with clients. If you can’t do that professionally or tend to embarrass yourself (and us), this isn’t the place for you.
- Reading and writing: There’s a lot of detail-heavy reading and editing. It can be boring, but it’s necessary, and it needs to be done perfectly. If you’re sloppy, this won’t work out.
QUALIFICATIONS
Experience is mandatory. We don’t care where you went to school or how shiny your degree is. What matters is what you’ve done and whether you can deliver to our OCD-level standards.
If you have experience with tax files or similar work, email us via jobs@waretax.com. Include your resume and a brief cover letter. Show us you can pay attention to detail (We check.)
Yes, we know this job post doesn’t look like something from the Big 4 or Fortune 500, and that’s intentional. Those models don’t work for a specialty tax firm. We take inspiration from the 37Signals approach: hire the right people who can deliver real results.
